Portuguese Grilled Prawns / Gambas Mozambique

Portuguese Grilled Prawns aka Gambas Mozambique are a smoky, slightly spicy grilled jumbo shrimp that are incredibly flavorful. The spicy marinade creates a depth of flavor that you will enjoy in each bite. You can multiply this recipe based on the number of people that will be eating the shrimp. For every 8 shrimp you should double the marinade, but the prep and cook time will remain the same.

Ingredients
 

  • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, organic
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 3 small green chilis, not spicy
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 juice of pink lemon, yellow lemon works too
  • 15 parsley leaves
  • 4 jumbo prawns, Mozambique shrimp / colossal shrimp

Instructions
 

  • Put all ingredients EXCEPT for the shrimp/prawns in a blender and blend
  • Put blend in a large ziplock bag along with the shrimp and let sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour
  • Heat grill to 400 degrees
  • Reduce flame to medium and cook 4 minutes on each side
