The clean, plump Sea Scallops you find in a supermarket actually start off in a shell like a clam and need to be cleaned in order to get that juicy meat.  One morning we headed out to the Union Square Farmer’s Market in NYC in search of some unique ingredients . As we strolled the market we came across a seafood stand and began discussing the process for shucking a Sea Scallop with the vendor, demo, tasting and all.  At this point we knew this is something that we had to try for ourselves.  Here are the steps for how to clean a sea scallop.  Enjoy!
